Pride of Place

Since October of 2019, actions have been taken to restore the mill. As you can imagine, restoring a mill of over 320 years can be a very expensive - but necessary - venture. By connecting with our mill’s stories through the centuries, and understanding the mechanics of our mill’s gears, we are able to educate people of all ages and make a little more sense of the world we live in today.

The Ward Melville Heritage Organization is able to provide experiences such as this Audio Experience, opening the Stony Brook Grist Mill, operating the Discover Wetlands Cruise Pontoon, hosting community events all because of people like you.

Please consider helping us keep the wheel turning and be a part of our shared legacy. Interested in volunteering with us? Call us (631) 751-2244 for more information. Donations can be made on WMHO.org. Checks are also accepted and can be made payable to the Ward Melville Heritage Organization and sent to P.O. Box 572, Stony Brook NY, 11790. In the note section, please specify where you’d like your donation to go.
